Dr. Gregorios Katsios
Senior NLP Research Scientist, Leidos
I'm a Senior NLP Research Scientist at Leidos, where I design machine learning systems for language understanding and generation, and build them into products that ship.
My recent work spans medical entity extraction, LLM agents, AI-generated text detection, and multimodal AI for government-sponsored research programs. I designed and built an open-domain medical entity extraction system, now a standalone platform with two patents pending, licensed by the U.S. Defense Health Agency for its My Service Treatment Record (mySTR) program. AWS published a technical description of the agentic document-processing architecture behind it.
Before Leidos, I completed my Ph.D. in Computer Science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute under Dr. Tomek Strzalkowski, with earlier degrees from SUNY Albany and the University of Peloponnese. My dissertation covered folktale plot representation, story generation, and the evaluation of generated text.
I publish at ACL, LREC-COLING, and IEEE ICDM, and review for ACL Rolling Review.
